Premier Colin Barnett is pushing ahead with his threat to cancel Browse Basin gas retention leases.

WA controls two of the seven retention leases, the other five being under Commonwealth control.
Mr Barnett said he will only approve the leases’ renewal, due at the end of next year, if the companies agree to process their gas at James Price Point.
